Tableau is an intuitive platform, with plenty of resources available for self-directed learning. However, working with an experienced trainer can help your team build confidence and adopt best practices significantly faster – leading to a quicker return on your investment.
Wizon provides Tableau training through both open courses and dedicated sessions for individual organisations. Our trainers actively use Tableau in real-world projects, bringing practical experience to the classroom and connecting theory with relevant, real-life examples.
Tableau fundamentals course
This course is designed for anyone who is new to Tableau or has limited experience with the platform. By the end of the course, you will be confident using Tableau Desktop – you will know how to connect data sources, create visualisations, and combine them into interactive dashboards that you can apply in your work right away.
SKILLS YOU’LL GAIN
Learn to navigate Tableau’s features and terminology, connect to data sources, understand dimensions and measures, create charts, apply filters, build interactive dashboards, and share your work with others.
DETAILS
Introduction to data visualisation; data connections, including Relationships, Unions, Blending, Live Connections, and Extracts; visualisation techniques and aggregation; creating calculations; formatting; and building and sharing dashboards.

Tableau advanced course
This course is designed for users who are familiar with the Tableau basics and want to take their skills to the next level. You will work with more advanced visualisations, parameters, and calculated fields, while learning best practices for creating dashboards that are clear, efficient, and performant.
SKILLS YOU’LL GAIN
Build advanced visualisations and calculations, work with table calculations and LOD expressions (FIXED, INCLUDE, and EXCLUDE), use parameters and sets to create interactive dashboards, and perform geographic analysis.
DETAILS
Data connection methods, including Cross-Database Joins and Data Blending; specialised visualisation types, such as Waterfall Charts and Word Clouds; maps and spatial files; analytical tools, including trend lines, clustering, and forecasting; and advanced use of filters, parameters, and Set and Parameter Actions.
TRAINING FORMAT
Duration: 8 hours. Format: Online or in person. Requirement: prior hands-on experience with Tableau or completion of the Fundamentals course.

Tableau visual analytics masterclass
Designed for data analysts who use Tableau on a daily basis and want to make their dashboards visually compelling too. The course covers best practices in visual analytics and how to apply them to create clear, compelling, and interactive reports.
TOPICS
Fundamentals of visual analytics and effective data visualisation structure; visual properties and choosing the right chart types; transforming tabular data into clear visualisations; dashboard layout, structure, and colour; interactivity and layering.
VALUE
The course provides guidance on developing your organisation’s own visual analytics playbook, helping ensure consistent application of best practices across the team.
TRAINING FORMAT
Duration: 8 hours. Format: Online or in person. Requirement: at least one year of hands-on experience with Tableau.

Tableau Prep course
This course is designed for anyone who wants to use Tableau Prep Builder to prepare data for analysis by cleaning, transforming, and combining data from different sources, including servers, Excel, and CSV files. By the end of the course, you will be able to build, edit, and run visual data preparation flows repeatedly.
SKILLS YOU’LL GAIN
Use Tableau Prep Builder to explore and understand your data, clean and transform it, and build visual data preparation flows that can be easily edited and run.
DETAILS
Connecting to and exploring data; combining data (Join, Union); transforming data through calculations, Pivot, and aggregation; full, partial, and incremental refreshes; organising and documenting data flows; and publishing and scheduling flows on Tableau Server.
TRAINING FORMAT
Duration: 5 hours. Format: Online. No requirements. You can join without completing the Fundamentals course, although the two courses complement each other well.

Training formats and requirements
PRACTICAL TIPS
The courses are hands-on, with each participant working on their own computer throughout the training. Please make sure you have the latest version of Tableau Desktop installed beforehand (or Tableau Prep Builder for the Prep course). A free trial version is also suitable.
For the best learning experience during online courses, we recommend using a second monitor, allowing you to follow the training on one screen while working independently on the other. A separate mouse is also recommended for a smoother Tableau experience.
SMALL GROUPS
We keep groups small to ensure that everyone can follow the training, actively participate in the exercises, and feel comfortable asking questions. We adjust the pace as needed so that no one is left behind, while keeping the course collaborative rather than fully personalised or one-to-one.

We publish the dates and prices for open courses alongside each course’s details once a session is scheduled. For in-house training, we agree on the timing, scope, and pricing together, based on your organisation’s needs.
